DOLL

oys are often used as agents of socialization. Traditionally, in Latin America as elsewhere, girls are given dolls, miniature furniture, and cooking implements to prepare them to one day assume the roles of wife and mother. Boys might be handed miniature horses, plows, and machetes, not unlike those used by their fathers.
